Bike: 2001 Suzuki SV650S

So I'm very new in the motorcycle game and I would love your input into my problem.

First off, the bike was sitting for 7 years and it was gifted to me. I'm making a list of all the things I need to do (complete liquid change) and inspection.

I noticed that my front brake lever isn't stiff and so when I press it down it doesn't go back to its original position it's just very loose, I'm assuming it has something to do with again the liquid changes but I am not sure. The brake lights activate for both the back brake and the front brake and again I'm assuming that my front brakes aren't affected since I could move the motorcycle when in neutral.

If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening it would be great. It might just be a brake fluid flush or something wrong with the master cylinder but I'm not sure.

The brake hose is swollen so that when you apply pressure the brake fluid can't return and the slave cylinders don't have enough spring force to push the fluid back to the master. Use silicone brake fluid after cleaning the master cylinder, slave cylinders and replacing all of the flexible hoses.

My suggestion: ride a bicycle. Much easier to fix.
