1936 Hawthorne Zep
In order to post photos I'm informed that I must post 10 times.
1936 Hawtrone Zep (83 years old)
* this original Hawthrone was purchased at the Kent swap in 1998 and
restored, the bike was covered with a light coat of rust before
restoration...
* painted by Dave Stromberger in black and creme w/red pin
striping...chrome and cad plating by super chrome in eugene.oregon....
* this persons saddle was restored by Bob Ujsasz...
* NOS lighting darts w/ Indian head white walls...
* tube rack with class reflector...
* frame is 18" Hawtrone fenders with acorn and a delta defender light...
* rear hub is a marrow dated F-3 ( 1936 ) front hub has a zert fitting
with no markings
* Torrington cross brace handle bars with Torrington deco stem...
* Zep Speedo the cable and hardware ( bezel has some damage, small hoe
on the edge about 1/4" in length and a 1/16" in width)
* restored # 10 Torrington pedals ..
* coke bottle grips w/red jewels....
* Zep front loader light that works...
* 3 vertical gill tank w/horn...
* triple step rims...

I think that would be a little optimistic. A very nice original paint bike may hit that kind of money. I bought this one for $1800 shipped. BTW the bike is a '37--first year of Zep. It should also have a locking fork. If not it isn't a Zep. V/r Shawn

Always good to have a second opinion, I was told it was a '36 Zep.
I'll be checking in with the builder this week to get more information.
Any idea what identification numbers should be on the frame?.
These are very faint and some look like proof marks and letters.

frame is 1938 and later, fender braces appear to be new as used on columbia reproductions, saddle is funky.
