Does He Bite?!?!
I sure hope so!!!!
I found this critter along the road yesterday. At first I passed him by but upon reflection I turned around and picked him up. Stowed safely in my pannier he rode home quietly enough. I found a proper place for him to stay and eventually he felt right at home.
Would you mess with this guy? Would any body?
He does look a bit menacing, doesn't he?
So as payment for me rescuing him, his job now is to protect my bike in my absence. I put him right to work and he did an excellent job this morning. Though the temperature was low enough to freeze shallow puddles he dutifully rode on his perch and guarded my bike while I went inside the restaurant for an early breakfast.
Twenty four miles after we left the security of my garage we returned home and he was still contentedly guarding my goods. I expect he and I will log many miles together.
Yeh, I'm not what you would call a serious cyclist....

If I was you- I would stop looking at the trail side. Too many interesting things to bring home. You might need a larger shed at the rate you collect.
Watch out for those lizards--they breed very easily.

It would appear that you have too much free time on your hands.

Cranky, he does look pretty menacing even if he is "fake"
I could have picked up my own mascot on my ride this morning but felt it was better to leave him alone to fight the rattlesnakes. It was a 6-7 foot blue indigo snake, just a beauty, our group just made sure he got across the road and scurried into the brush before getting run over by a car.

So the lizard rode with me again this morning on my 25 mile breakfast ride. The 30F degree weather didn't seem to bother him too much, so............I'm thinking he will become a frequent riding companion.
Haven't named him yet. Lizzy comes to mind, but my daughter's roommate Liz might take offense. Something fitting will come to me some day.
Fred still rides perched in the handlebar bag, and Mortimer still rides the Tandem. Now I've got a plastic lizzard riding my rear rack....Ya think maybe I shoulda started wearing a helmet sooner?!?!

It has a kind of disturbing Jurassic Park look to it.
