I drove through one year in June and the campground I planned to stay at was buried under several feet of snow. I had been living on the east coast and that was new to me.

The ride looks like fun and the scenery will be incredible. Cool that it's free!

If you're worried about it being full, you could follow the route another day.

What's nice is that a big section of the road is car-free this Saturday. I've never done it, but I'll be up there this weekend! I'm really excited. Sounds like they are going to have rest stops with food and water available, which is really great, too.

I'm going on 9/24. Looks like fun. There should be plenty of room for folks to spread out.

We rode it on the 17th!

I'd been to Crater Lake back in 1998. My bf had never been there before and had been wanting to go for years. So the first time he sees Crater Lake was on his bike. We did the whole route starting on the west side. We brought Surly Crosscheck bikes and had no problems in the construction zone. It was so nice riding the road without cars. I took a lot of pictures of all the riders on the road.

We drove all the way from Colorado to do this ride. We made it part of a week+ long road trip through central and eastern Oregon. We also rode McKenzie Pass (Sisters) to the Dee Wright Observatory a few days later.
