50’s Paramount Nervex Legere
I’d like to narrow down the year of my grandfather’s 50’s Paramount with Nervex Legere lugs. If i use the Paramount Registry (Kurt’s site...it would be a 51) but the lugs were more common around 55/56 (thanks Frank). This frame is also setup for a derailleur which makes it unique. Any suggestions or ideas. And yes, the wheels and chain are not original to the bike...my dad thought it would be cool to put on some pre-war wooden rims. I appreciate any insights.
The forum wont let me pist a url yet but the pics can be found under 50s Schwinn Paramount on Pinterest. User ddv9196
Thanks, Darin

If you pay Waterford they will provide you with the original pedigree for the bike. They are the ones that have the original records if they still exist. Richard Schwinns wife is usually the one who does the seach. Roger

Welcome to BF and C&V.
Your grandfather's Paramount is stunning! The paint is in amazing condition.
I'm sorry I can't help you with your questions about the lugs. Did you reach the date conclusion based on the serial number? If so that is your best bet. All of the Paramounts at that time were pretty much a custom order, so, the lugs might have been carefully filed to their shape by request of the builder.
rhenning's suggestion to contact Waterford is your best bet for a certain dating.
I've never seen a RD hanger like the one used. I imagine it is for a specific RD.
Keep posting so we can see your pictures here.
