anyone ever add POI's to a Garmin Edge?

As part of my PBP bakery project, I want to see them on the map.

I've added locations (that's fairly easy to do).

I created the list of locations (POIs) as waypoints in Garmin BaseCamp and exported the list as a GPX file. Copy that to the \Garmin\NewFiles.

You might want to verify that the symbols you want to use work on the device.

Thanks, does that effectively add them to the route? I have found a number of bakeries just off route and I don't really want to go there if I don't reach that point when they are likely to be open. I figure the ones off-route are less likely to be stripped bare. They close when that happens anyway.

Locations are separate from the route. They show up on the map and you can use a location as a navigation target (select it to have the Garmin compute a route to it).
