Ditto for turmeric as a previous poster brought up. There is some research on turmeric for physical overexertion, and may provide a little support. For effectiveness, you may want to look into the absorption of your turmeric.

As has been mentioned numerous times, it is IMPERATIVE that Bioperine ( https://www.bioperine.com/ ground black pepper) be included with turmeric to increase its bio-availability.

I don't eat much meat and almost no beef. The last time I had a burger, about 10 years ago, I felt sick. I eat fish and especially love milk products ever since my first day here. I do eat plenty of veggies. Lest anyone mistakenly think I've spent a lifetime taking care of my
health, I have not. Mostly i'm the fortunate recipient of good genes from long lived ancestors. I've gotten smarter as I've gotten older and nowadays pay much more attention to diet. The relatively few aches of age, I deal with by stretching daily to preserve mobility and exercise to maintain strength. For instance, a somewhat troublesome knee, when it acts up, I deal with by knee exercises with ankle weights and a troublesome back, with core exercises. Medical researchers are now recommending weight training even for oldsters as a way to maintain quality of life.

Yes, bioperine (which is a black pepper extract) or a hydro-soluble formula improves absorption of turmeric.

I think you can just use regular cracked pepper with your turmeric. I cook my daily 1/2 cup steel oats with 1 T turmeric then add a few grinds of black pepper before eating it. (I also add frozen blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and cinnamon, and soy milk.)

Note: the addition of ground black pepper when consuming anything has healthy benefits.

I took a week off of riding due to my left knee. Heavy rain helped make skipping riding a no brainer for a couple days.

I rode Thursday night and the knee felt pretty good. I rode this morning and my left knee was protesting again.

I'm not a competitive rider by any means, but I hate having to downshift to take it easy on the knee. Feels like a waste of a ride.

Frustrating.

I woke up this morning and every place I have had surgery hurt that happens sometimes. My diet is meat and potatoes and other vegetables. 3 rides this week 100.6 miles will try for a 4th ride today but the 102 forecast temperature might make sit under the water sprinkler with a cold beer or ice tea. I don’t know if my diet is inflammatory or not.

Went for a short ride yesterday which included a 2 mile 6% climb on my Centurion Turbo with the original 52/42, 13/24. I felt fine trying to keep the chain off the 24. My climb was interrupted when I felt the bottom bracket loosening up. (I just re packed it the day before and ...).

Went for a re-do today and figured I'd test my BB with the same hill. Felt fine and the bike held together. I went down the other side of the hill and came back up another road 1 3/4 miles 6% and felt good enough to take the long way home.

I saved the ride on Strava and was surprised to see that I got a PR on the first climb. No pain during or after and I was climbing a ladder after the ride tending to some landscaping chores. I attribute some of the ease with which that happened today to my diet. (And that Turbo is freaking fast )
