Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Schwinn World Sport Price

I'm wondering what would be a fair price to sell a Schwinn World sport. I think it sold a little below $200 back in 87'

Schwinn World Sport 12 Speed
Frame type: CRO-moly 4130, black frame, few scratches
Frame Size CC(center to center): 63 CM
Crank arms: 165 MM Sugino
Components: Suntour front/rear derailleur/cogs, Thumb gear switches, and DiaComp brakes(Plus emergency levers)
Wheelset: 27'' Sunshine 5345 Hubs
Bottle Cage: Specialized Rib Cage Pro MTB
Seat: Velo SX
Seat tube: Laprade SR

I replaced the handlebar tape a few months ago, and the rear tire. The front wheel has some wear, and probably 150 miles left on it. Both wheels are true and rims are in good condition. Brake housing/cables are in good condition. The cogs and chain rings both show little wear, the chains a little grungy, but still within the stretch limits. It could be upgraded for improved speed.

So, what do y'all think? Thanks for reading all that!

You're better off asking on the Classic and Vintage forum but I can tell you that they'll tell you that anywhere from 50-100$ depending on how clean it is and how used bikes sell in your area.

Of course some will tell you that they got one just like it at a garage sale for 10$ or for free in a dumpster.

Closed auctions on eBay are as good a market indicator as any.
