My 2012 S-Works SL4 Di2 build

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like it all but I'm not a Roval Wheel fan. But I should go eff myself, enjoy the bike, build it, photograph it, and post it here.

Well done on the Di2.

Awesome. Great choice in bikes and driveline.
Since your first Di2 build, you may want to consider hiding the battery. There are some good threads on the web as to best practice.
Have fun. Know your gonna love the bike.

Im all done!! Wow, let me tell you, this build was alot easier to do then your tradional mechanical build. What took me the longest was fishing the RD wire from the rear and over the BB and out the bottom hole, Maybe 30 min, had to position the bike where the front of the bike was facing down. I prelabled every wire to eliminate confusion.

I finally see RD Wire!!!

Connected

Down Tube was alot easier for the front wire connector to the Shifters

Battery Wire was simple..

FD was easy as well, may 30 seconds to fish it through.

Wiring all done... Stuffed it back in and installed the BB cable guides.

Installed the Stem, Bars and Shifters and connected front wires to the shifters.

I installed everything else and all the grommets, All done!!

FD

Had to take some photos out because photo limitations per post.

Bedtime, going to test in the morning.

Finished!!!

Here is a video, of the shifting without any adjusting to the front or rear derailleur... this is a second run. had to get someone to hold my iphone for video. It just autotuned itself, freakin amazing..also the FD senses chain rub and it auto trim by itslef! All in All Di2 is fool proof and not having to mess with fiddling with adjustments to the derailleurs is a big bonus. Maybe 3-4 hours on this build and i was taking my time, while I was watching Strikeforce on Showtime.

Perhaps you should opt for battery inserted into the seattube . . .

I love the look of white tape. Only downside, it took mine about two weeks to turn to a grayish dirty color

the FD senses chain rub and it auto trim by itslef!
You and PCad keep saying this, but it's not really true. It doesn't "sense" anything. It just automatically adjusts the front trim based on what gear you're in on the rear. You could take the chain off altogether and the FD would still adjust itself automatically when you shift the RD.

My little service to the cause of accuracy in electronics is done.

Oh, and enjoy the bike

How well does the white S-works tape clean up? I love the way it looks and would like to try it now that my current tape is getting a bit worn looking. Oh and your builds rock, you dealer must love when you walk in haha!
