Best bike for the value
I'm currently on a 2004 or 2005 (I forgot when I got it) Trek 1200. Tiagra shifters and front derailer and 105 rear derailer. I saw a real nice Cannondale Synapse today (105's all around) that fit me like a dream but it is a little out of my price range (this one is for 1200). Are Fuji bikes worth my time looking at?
Right now I'm riding about 120 miles a week and looking to pick up the pace. I am thinking about racing, but if I do it wouldn't be anything terribly competitive- just something to keep me entertained.
Any input is helpful

Anything wrong with your current bike? Usually the best value is to wait till the want for a new bike passes and keep riding the old one . I go through it all the time and it does pass. Lately I've been jonesing for a steel frame but I've been sucessfull at ignoring it so far.
But yes fujis are fine bikes.

You can probably find a bike at Performance Bikes for under 1000 with full 105s.

I was looking pretty seriously at the 2014 Synapse 5 Disc 105. I'm a cycling newb pretty much so I can't really add a lot to the discussion other than it is a nice bike and $1,200 was the bottom dollar that I found it for around here as of last week. I personally went for the 2015 and paid a bit more for the 5800 series of the 105 over the 5700 105.
I love my bike! I loved that brushed aluminum 2014 too though.
I guess they say that you've got to ride them to see if they 'fit' you. I was concerned because I couldn't actually ride one in my size - only a bigger size. It seemed to ride nice enough though and I'm not disappointed now that I have mine in my size.

I heard a rumor that disc brakes aren't allowed in any racing. I know that they aren't in the pro peloton but what about amateur races?
