Your Ideal/Dream Ride
After coming off the first ride of the 2005 season, which wasn't bad to say the least, I was inspiried with making up this thread.
Imagine...Close your eyes
If you could have any bike, any setting, any weather conditions, any dream bike partners and anything else you ever dreamed about. What would that ride be?

Partner?
I dunno.. my incredibly gorgeous supermodel girlfriend.. of course.
No traffic either.
And it would rain gumdrops

This is my dream bike.
I wouldn't ride it though, I'd hang it on my wall so everyone could admire it.

My dream ride will be taking place this summer on the Kangamangus Highway, right here in New Hampshire. The highway consists of a 32 mile stretch along the Kangamangus River along the White Mountains/Great Woods of New Hampshire. Hoping the weather is nice, somewhere in the 70's, plentiful sunshine, and I will be using my Fuji Roubaix.
Just an idea what the river and scenery look like

Great choice, I love that stretch of road. Just have to get far enough away from Conway to avoid the mobs.
I'd have to say right now I'd love to ride Fruita on a SC Blur. For the road, I'll stick with my new r1000 riding the Massachusetts coast south of Boston.

Deep in the woods on top of a mountain in a rainforest early morning with some fog. 2 of my favorite riding buddies and me on a transition preston. Climb for 3 hours descent for 1 hour. Nothing around me, no contrete just absolutely massive trees, soaked as a natural affect from being a rain forest.
Thats my ideal world...gotta be in the mountains.

If I were to get a dream bike it would be a Specialized Roubaix Elite or a Giant OCR Composit 2. Both bikes would need different wheelsets though. Again, I'm pretty easy to please.

My dream ride isn't a route but a set of conditions. Starting with great weather for every ride and pre-set, never to be broken time frames set aside specifically for riding. Mix in a choice of friends of varying abilities to mix hard and easier days, some smooth roads and great scenery.
And a Vanilla bike to boot.
That's why it's called a dream.

My ideal ride looks something like this, only on a sunny day with any of my bikejournal.com friends on my 05 Jamis Quest:

Put me on a Felt TK2 set up with cutoff bullhorns and Eggbeaters, and put me in Shinjuku at midnight in the summer rain.

I would RAAM on a SoftRide. I have never ridden one, but would love to try out. I love the rad design and the RAAM speaks for itself.

I'd like to repeat that ride, but without having to carry my gear... I want a supported tour down the length of Baja, and just to add to the fun, I want gourmet meals at all the stops.
But as long as we are talking "wishes;" how about all along the western coast with no vehicles... no cars on the road what so ever. The road is just open for bikes. Now that would be a Dream Ride.

Every car is a little sweeping blessing to the road cyclist...

Iowa. Last week of July with 10,000 or so of my closest friends. Any bike in the basement. No headwinds, 75 and sunny, 55 at night. Not very many gravel miles. No place runs out of pies; and no lines at Pastafari. Anybody coming along?
