First ride in a month

First ride in about a month. Hot but overcast day so not so bad. Good time to start Fall training. First 30 minutes
took it easy felt stiff let the old bones loosen up. I needed some WD 40. Then it was great didn’t feel like I missed any time off. Ending up with 21 miles 1:45. So I’m happy with that for a start. The heat isn’t done yet so morning rides until we get a break from this heat.

Too much physical work to catch up on plus a swollen knee that just healed. 100+ weather doldrums. Late summer depression or I should say blues which is common here. Was a little burned out but I’m all enthusiastic again about riding my bikes.

I retired in April, prior to that I was working as hard as I ever have for the last couple years and it took a toll on my cycling. Working in 100 degree heat leaves you with nothing when Saturday rides come around. It has been over or close to 100 for a while here but since I don't have to go to work I feel like my cycling has improved.
Glad to hear you still look forward to riding.

27 miles this morning before the heat set in. Definitely back into it again. Those endorphins providing that natural high is what I need.

Same boat here, but I bet you work much harder than I do.

My days off from work are filled with working on house repairs, car repairs, etc. Saturday was 8 hours outside doing repairs and Sunday was a repeat. At least Sunday I hopped on the bike to let the air cool me off with my sweat soaked clothes. That makes for only 2 short rides in the last 7 days, though.

My left knee seems to be improving, too. Just in time for cooling weather!
