Mens vs. Womens Bikes
For a hybrid, what's the difference between a men's and women's bike? Are there reasons a women would buy a men's bike or a man would buy a women's bike?

The top tube is generally set a little lower (or at a steeper angle) on ladies' bikes for increased standover distance. Stems are often not quite as long, for shorter reach. Saddles are often anatomically optimized for women on ladies' bikes (narrower saddles, due to differences in sit bone structure.
Individual fit should take precedence over all else, though. If you're a man who fits the ladies' frame better, then go for it (as long as the saddle is good for you). If you're a lady who fits a men's frame better, then go for it (same with the saddle).
The distinction between male and female frames is as much for marketing as anything else. Giant have even created a separate brand (Liv) for their female-specific designs. My daughter rides a Raleigh Alysa (female version of the Cadent) and I find it comfortable to ride. I'd probably change the saddle, but I like the bike overall, and I'm her 38 year old, 235 pound, father.
