Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't, but I would think that inexpensive might not do it - if this is going to be a daytime running light, it's going to need to be bright, no?

Maybe. I actually have a super bright night light (Magicshine 900) and it has a flash mode, but I think that’s overkill. Plus heavy. I would think a 1w white LED flasher would be adequate.

Did a reasonably fast (for me) solo metric on the Domane's stock wheels/gravel tires this morning. Man, was that some work. I haven't felt this wrecked post-ride in a long time.

This one has two blinkie modes. Econo mode and blinding disco mode. I use it in one of its steady modes most of the time, but often go blinkie on well lit heavily trafficked city streets, or in conjunction with another on in steady mode.

I was running a Lezyne Femto and it didn't help.
I was still invisible to the driver.
Maybe a non-dorky helmet light?

I may need a big disco mirror ball suspended from my helmet.

For daytime, the brighter the better IMHO. Magicshine 900’s strobe mode is wonderful, but dealing with the battery has been challenging. The best way to have it mounted was on top of the helmet, with the battery in the jersey pocket for me.

I can't see anything being overkill in a front, daytime light. The point is to get attention.

I received a couple mini stroopwaffles as party favors at a wedding I attended last evening. I like them and, apparently they are available here, unless of course, one of the out of towners brought them in.

If I may get sappy for a moment, I’m very glad the brightest—perhaps the only—spark of real community on this site has not been extinguished. People are way more interesting and entertaining than bikes and I have really enjoyed being a part of this.

Yeah, I do too. It’s seriously obnoxious in blink mode and a seizing driver is a dangerous driver.

I stripped the paint on the Fuji fork I have in the Basso frame. Tempted to stick with it now instead of getting a crabon frok for it.

Actually just put that cage on another bike and get some stainless action on the Basso.

TBH a classic looking bike like that deserves a classic metal cage. That’s all I ever use.
