This weather is freaky
It's December in Canada. This time last year we had almost a foot of snow, and the bike was firmly locked in the basement with no reprieve expected until the spring.
Today it was 14C (57F), and sunny and I took the borrowed hybrid out for 17km along the trails, the longest ride since my argument with a pothole early in the summer (three fractures in one arm, scary slow recovery). Yes, my arm hurt midway through the ride, and at the end, but it was wonderful.
Must admit I wonder if my road bike would actually be more comfortable. I might be a little more stretched out (bad for the shoulder), but I wouldn't be twisting my wrists inward to hold straight bars (bad for wrist and elbow).
Thoughts?

These handlebars allow a multiple hand positions and can provide a more upright posture.

Loving this "El Nino" year. I'm in MA, and went for 30 today with minimal clothing. I'll be out every day I can. Love it.

One mans pleasure, is another mans pain. El Nino has caused 13 counties here in Oregon to be declared as disaster areas due to flooding.
We needed the rain because of the drought this year, but not this much at once. That said, I'll try not to let it get me down. Sundays forecast looks like normal amounts of rain only, so I'll put on the rain gear, and try to go out for a ride.

Middle of December and I'm thinking of buying more weed killer, and my dogwood has buds.We will skip the winter beers and go back to Corona and lime.Heading out to cut down ye old Christmas tree with bottles of water and sun screen.I guess we will stop for ice cream on the way home.

Well, in Oregon we're making up for the hot dry summer with a vengeance. Here in the lowlands (metro Portland) we've had > a month's worth of rain in the past few days and they're calling for 1-2 feet of new snow in the mountains by tomorrow!
Suffice it to say I've been getting a lot of "miles" on the trainer.

I will be the grumblist and recall that Illinois had no snow on the ground thru December, 2014, and then we were whacked with storms the first week of 2015. However, I have golfed twice this week and biked twice too. Let's go for another 20 miles today.

I went for a ride around town on my Trek 760 the day after Christmas last year. It was about 45-50f but hey, I did it. Tomorrow we are back in the 50s.
I'll take all of this we can get. We've had winters like this and they are well remembered along with years of massive snowbanks.

Yes, it was nice to stop after work last night and walk into the stores without my suit coat, just shirtsleeves. Saw forsythias blooming in someone's yard yesterday too.

The Weather is different day to day , the changing Climate is bound to be different from day to day too ,

Last month, we had three day out of the entire month that were at average temperature for those days. The rest of the month was above average. This month, every day has been above average. We are still in the mid 80's here in Central Florida. We never had a fall this year, it's still a continuation of summer except that the humidity is much lower now.

I got out today on my 17.4 mi. TT. Was just interested in doing a moderate pace and get some miles in. This is a ride w/855 ft. elevation that I did last year at 17.5 mph. Today was just a "get some miles in" kind of day. A lovely day and a mellow ride at 14.1mph. Just really nice to ride in mid December.
