Indoor cycling is training for the road. That's 95% true, anyway. Some indoor cyclists are training for some Zwift race.

Grilling beets is the best preparation method, I've found.
Get the coals hot, and make sure the grate is clean.
Slice the beets into about 1/2" thick slices.
About 2 minutes on each side, high heat.
Remove the beets after the second side is done, throw them in the trash, and eat the coals.

Are raspberries and blackberries just as fragile on the west coast as they are here?

Theyre sold uncovered in little cardboard half pint boxes and if I store them that way in the fridge they last a week. Sometimes I get mold and lose some towards the end of the week.
Strawberries are sold in little pint boxes. I’ve found they store best in the fridge if you cover them. But they too last a week. We get local strawberries Febish to Oct/Novish.
Berries are so perishable that they key thing is to get them very recently picked unless you’re eating them right away, that way they last long enough for you to eat them before they die. There’s lots of negatives to SoCal life the the Berry situation is not one of them.

Since you have a like/hate relationship with beets and I know you use the beet powder, have you tried this:
Zhou Nutrition Beet Complete
The black cherry taste is OK and mostly masks the beet flavor.

Busy day today:
10am rabbiting date with PuppyLove’s bracemate for the Easter Hunt Test
2pm gittin my hair did
4:30pm trying a new yoga class
6:15pm out for tacos and margaritas with friends
I really need to fit a grooming for Puppy Love somewhere in there
But this berry talk is making me feel like I should whip up some kind of berry based breakfast beyond yogurt and berries.
I’ve been hankering for a long ride, something climby in the 5hr range. So I texted a friend/race nemesis who lives about an hour away. Tomorrow I shall drive out to her place on the coast and we’re planning on riding up to Santa Barbara and then up an iconic climb called Gibraltar. Lunch at her place after. So I should also fix some kind of dessert to bring tomorrow.
Feeling lazy though, more like talking about doing a little cooking than actually doing a little cooking.

BTW the boat survey aka home inspection went so well that essentially there was nothing valid the guy could ask for to knock down the price. This buyer is so annoying that of course he asked for a $5000 discount.
It was without justification but we threw him a bone and said $1000.
He comes back with ok but he wants us to split the cost of the Coast Guard documentation, another $300 from us. Which it a pretty outrageous thing for him to ask for, that’s something that clearly should be on him, after he finalized the purchase.
Whatever, of course we agreed to it on account of it being 0.1% of the total dollar amount of the overall sale. But this buyer dude is seriously annoying.

Wow. Such a long season. I am right across the river from NJ, where they grow some damn good strawberries (and blueberries). I'm talking you need a bib juicy. Depending how the spring has been, they can start showing up around Memorial Day weekend. There is a bike ride I like to do in deep south Jersey the Saturday before Memorial Day. It starts and ends near a farm stand. I always pick up some if they are available. But they are only around fresh from local farms for a few months.

Judging by his distaste for fruit, I think he's a communist agitator anyway.

fitness bike at the hotel had a zwift looking feature it was pretty cool to ride with people. I’m not sure if they were real though, and the bike wasn’t smart. I only last 30 minutes before I got on the treadmill. The seats on these things are huge!
