Do you think the rest of the world believe that Myanmar does not have any Coronavirus? Don't you think it makes it obvious they are not being honest? Do you think tourists will rush to Myanmar, or other countries in S E Asia because of not being honest about Coronavirus?

I think the rest of the world couldn't find Myanmar on a map, even if you offered as a reward a bottle of Burma Shave.

They're working on a test for antibodies, which will tell if you've been infected, even if you recover completely before being tested.

As a further refutation to the OP assertion, Iceland has probably the best testing and statistics.

We will never know how many people have it or had it. In the case of the Diamond Princess cruise ship, half of those who tested positive for the virus never showed symptoms. Others had minor symptoms which could be easily mistaken for a cold or allergies. Since so many people can contract the virus, yet not get sick, and many others show such minor symptoms that they wouldn't be tested (tests are reserved for those with serious symptoms and/or who are at high risk), there is no way of knowing. This makes published fatality rates for coronavirus pointless, because there is no base figure upon which figures can be based.

The only real standard we have is the fatality figures, which are climbing in most countries, and stabilizing in some others. Though the casualty rate is going to be nowhere near as high as the news media is trying to speculate, quite a few people are going to die. The hardest-hit country right now is Italy. However, the average coronavirus fatality in Italy is 81 years old with an average of 2.7 preexisting medical conditions. This is not a good time to be visiting your grandparents or your great-grandparents.

In China the priority has focused on restarting the economy. (what they call victory, actually means containment has failed and they threw in the towel)

I imagine other countries will follow suit.

The best strategy is to assume your contagious, and take the necessary precautions to avoid making a bad situation worse.

That's what I called it.

I think some people weren't trying to be serious. The responses were their idea of humour.

PS Some of you are going to push this into P&R at some point soon it would seem. Can you please tone it down and make the topic more respectful?
