If you're in an area where the cops don't respect cyclists much, you'll likely have a LOT of problems in a velomobile.
I've been pulled over a bunch of times, but it seems that as soon as they find out there is no motor, they lose interest. I have had several, ask me to get out of it so they could look inside. They just can't believe a 'bicycle' was doing 30mph. (I guess they never bothered clocking someone on a road bike).

I built this one for my wife, and it doesn't seem to draw as much attention, from people or law enforment. I guess because it looks homemade.

Still, it has to get annoying after awhile right? Wasting your time and all that, making you lose your momentum, etc.

Pretty cool home build, sheet aluminum? Did you form the sheets yourself? I like the riveted aerospace look.

What an odd choice for a hobby. Is that called "Trolling For L.E.O.s"?

Yeah, I live in rural North Carolina and a few times I have been pulled over because some concerned citizen felt he was doing his civic duty by calling 911 and reporting "a little yellow car came flying by here and it didn't have no license plates."

Yes, the construction technique is the same as is used in small aircraft. it is very thin aluminium and is very easy to cut, drill and bend, it is also easy to crease or wrinkle. I used a kit to build it, so the suspension components were already welded. I only have an AC/DC welder and it doesn't do a good job on aluminium.

Gypsy Bleu's First Dairy Queen Ride

Took this on the bridge over the swamp on the way to Dairy Queen tonight. It was a very pleasant ride...

Great shot. The air freshener really makes it!

But seriously, this was what I had in mind when I started the thread: scenic shots of riders' locations from what looks like the riding position.

Thanks!

Thank you for noticing!

I've posted full-bike shots in a number of other threads, but I've added a couple of things today - so I'll be out and about with my camera again tomorrow.

Stay tuned....

Please do post some pics, that is a sweet looking bike. Are those bars North Roads turned upside down?

No, that is a SOMA Alloy Lauterwasser. I knew I had to have that for this bike when I saw it installed on somebody's vintage Raleigh lightweight.

Oh, what the heck... off topic a bit.

Although these are not from "Behind Bars", I've got one photo I took last night, and one I took just a couple hours ago:

Sunset at the Dairy Queen:

[IMG][/IMG]

And this afternoon in my driveway, after mods:

[IMG][/IMG]

This is the most photogenic bike I've ever had. We are going to make some beautiful pictures together...

There are some horses near my house, and others on my commute, and they always stare at me when I ride past.

It looks sort of like Custer National Park, in South Dakota. Yes? No?
