I'm done with it

I am out of the neck brace. I stopped and got me a frame mounted pump, spare tubes, tire levers, multipurpose tool, gloves and a little bag to carry snacks in. Guess what I am doing for the first weekend in spring.

That's the spirit! For me it was three abdominal surgeries, then four more for severe arthritis in my neck (c-3 and c-4). I just hope my neck will allow me to continue to ride my C&V road bikes without having to resort to a 'bent.

Nice! I was in a MiamiJ for 6 weeks in June/July 2013 after getting hit on my bike. Felt SO GOOD to get out there again brace free. Took a long time to "feel' better and to get my neck strength and flexibility back. Good on ya and have fun out there!

Congratulations! That's an experience I've never had and one that I never want to have.

Good stuff. Apologies to those who have heard this story too many times but....on 7/24/13 I crashed, broke my neck and had C1 & C2 fused. Back on the bike in mid-November and had my best season in a decade in '14. I totally get where you're at.

Based on personal experience of late, you'll be spending the weekend returning a defective frame pump. Just kidding. go, Go, GO!

Set up a roadside bicycle flat-fixing service?

Great way to start off the Spring Season by getting your neck sprung from its confines.

16 weeks for my little confrontation with gravity and Mother Earth.

Hey congratulations. I assure you, you will feel great, no matter what your body says! Getting back the "freedom" to do what you enjoy is great!! I am a C&V person also. Personally I've had a bent, but took my C&V down, and made that my bike. (Selling bent). However, having said that, my wife rides a Catrike and loves it. Bent, C&V, or those"new fangled carbon bike contraptions" , the main thing is to just get out and enjoy the ride.
