Torpado Nuovo Sprint

SOLD

I’ve purchased this bike several years ago. I cleaned it up over the winter and in the spirit of downsizing I am putting it for sale. It is also way too sporty for this old guy. I did enjoy cleaning it up. I have some before pics in some other threads.

I doubt it was ridden much. I did get a new Columbus sticker as it just seemed to need one. Used tires from the co-op, some cables and touch up. The original stem had a crack at the splined nut area so I put on this scratched up Cinelli one. Seat post is scratched up from the previous guy getting it unstuck. I don’t have much in it, so am asking $200 here for local pickup. eBay prices point to the stock seat being fairly valuable and the pump also perhaps. I’m not sure if that is a fair price in this depressed market.

84 date under the bottom bracket

Mostly stock

New Columbus Aelle sticker

Fairly nice details

Universal brakes

Gran Sport rd

Ofmega crankset

Different stem and hoods

Scratched post

It cleaned up pretty well

Size is 56cm ctc on seat tube. Top tube is the same or just a 1/4” longer. Tires on it are older and 23 front and 25 rear. These are wire beads and went on these rims easily. The Ambrosio rims are notorious for difficult tire mounting and indeed, this seemed to probably be the case with folding tires I had on hand. I went through the wheels and tensioned the spokes. I replaced one wheel cone in back with a campy one. There are a couple very very minor pits in the cones. Front tire measures close to actual 23 and rear is closer to 24mm. Plenty of room it seems for even 28s. I haven’t ridden this much, so some final adjustments to things may be in order for a purchaser.

Riding it reaffirmed me being totally out of place on a sport bike.

Very pretty and a fair price. This should sell locally but you may have to be patient.

22” even ctc on seat tube as close as I could measure. Darn close to 56.

That’s actually a pretty decent bargain. Frame is lovely.

That's a nice looking bike, but I'm afraid I am in the same boat.

Sold

Sold on Craigslist. Someone drove 150 miles from Columbus to buy it. He is familiar with this area and has a local friend, so a nice road trip for him. He said he has a fixed gear Paramount and a Cinelli so he knew what he was getting. He was pleased with the quick handling on a short test ride. Sold for slightly more than I asked here. Collection reduced by 1.
