I can't take apart this Suntour derailleur!
I'm trying to replace one of the pulleys (Suntour Cyclone MII) but no one knows how to undo the screws. This is what I have:
https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/...283500%29.html
This is what it looks like:
What's been tried:
Screwdriver
Needle nose pliers
Need tip clamp
I'm disappointed that I may have to replace this derailleur but I hope someone can help me out.

I had that exact same problem once. I couldn't figure it out and scrapped the derailer. Wish I could be more help.

I think that the round, recessed part with the notches is a nut that holds the pulley axle to the cage. Looks like you need to use a straight screwdriver on the slotted bolt and a small screwdriver in one of the notches on the nut.
Have you tried that?

Try a smallish needle nose pliers with an end in each slot.
edit: oops you tried that? and it didn't work? bugger.

Maybe this diagram of an earlier model will help.
Can anyone recommend me a nice derailleur similar to the Cyclone MII (light and shiny) for cheap?

Suntour made a special T-tool to undo the nut shown in your second photo. I've got one but they were rare.

I remember doing one once with a really good snap-ring pliers (with right angle tips), they can take more torque than a needle-nose (and you'll risk ruining the joint of a good pair of needle-nose pliers, so don't force it). The thing you need is good quality snap-ring (or circlip) pliers with hard tips, those little nuts are on tight!

Couldn't you make a tool functionaly similar out of an old flat blade screwdriver and a Dremel tool cutoff disk or small grinding wheel?

it wouldn't give you nearly the same leverage, but perhaps you could make it from a 10mm hollow axle and drill a hole through the axle for the handle or sandwich a flat bar with a hole in it between some locked nuts (4 nuts total?)...
