Need crankset advice
I'm looking for some advice on choosing the correct chainrings. I have a Shimano FC 6207 crankset with 52-42 Biopace chainrings, and I want to make a change to non Biopace with a 39T small ring. My crank arms are in great shape so that's why I thought I should just get different rings as opposed to a whole new crankset.
This is for my 87 Ironman Master with Dura ace 7402 rd and Shimano HB 6207 fd.
I'm also considering a whole new crankset like a Shimano Tri-color. You can usually find them with a 52-39.
Which way would you go? All suggestions are welcome.

You could treat yourself to TA rings in many sizes. 6 speed Shimano is pretty slick with only a 10 tooth jump on the chain rings. I think it would be great to put on a 38-48 or 39-49. https://www.spacycles.co.uk/brands/ta.php Sugino rings are attractive also.

I may look into your suggestions. They look promising. I forgot that I have an nos Campy Centaur crank with 53-39 Veloce rings that I could use. I'll see if it's going to work out.

I believe it was just a color choice, but I’m not 100% on that.

Shimano offered choice in bio-pace or standard. Standard boxed crankset with ring combo 39-45t. I would think a 39t is tight to the 130 bcd.
Searching 130 bcd chainring on eBay will give you lots to pick from.

130 bcd can fit a 38 if necessary.

True, but that is a tight fit. I had to shave a mm or so off my 6200 spider arms to make sure the chain runs clear of them.

For what it's worth, I have ample margin with the 38T inner on my Nervar Star crank (proprietary 128mm BCD). Your spider arms are 1mm longer than mine.

I went with nos chainrings, an SR 52T and a Sugino 38T. They look nice and will work well. The hardest part was dealing with two Ebay sellers that just didn't ship, or even answer my inquiry messages. I was reimbursed from one and am waiting the time requirement on the second. I hope the sellers are doing well and not affected by the virus which might be the cause of them not shipping.
