all you'll cowards don't even smoke crack.
1cm shorter stem, Tektro levers, box added back on, paint fell off steel crank, left crank fell off and replaced with alu, new seatpost, seatpost actually raised high enough to fit me in the photo, some rust.
Maybe in a couple months I'll give it a good going over and replace the saddle and luggage rack with better ones.

Just built this one up, my first "from-scratch" single speed. 1987 Mongoose Alta. Full cro-mo frame, fork and stays, and lots of braze-ons to boot. The horizontal dropouts were begging to be converted and I happened to already have a SS freewheel and short stack chainring bolts from another aborted project. I re-spacered the rear hub and re-dished the wheel, and as luck would have it, that lined up the freewheel pretty much dead-nuts with the outside chainring. Running 48t in the front and 20t in the back, giving 62.4 gear inches. I just went for a long ride around town and I think this just about perfect--low enough for get up and go, but high enough to achieve a little speed while spinning. Michelin Country Rock tires are a nice mix of road smoothness and grip on light dirt/gravel. Really happy with this one!
