Alright, gotta stop with the sappy stuff. Damn onions making my eyes water when I am cutting them.

Did a nice fixed gear ride today. Legs felt good. Weather was really nice hitting the mid 60's. What a difference a day makes.
I don't think it is sappy. I think it is beautiful.

it took me a good 10 mins to calm down and retrace my steps to realize i was in my own bedroom

Great pic! Makes me miss my college days, when I interned at UCSB and lived there for 10 weeks in the summer of 2009. All I did was party and ride, everywhere between Ventura and Solvang. Oh, I worked in the lab sometimes too .

Miss riding in SB, and that climb + OSM in particular!

Last day of a training block before I take it easy till next week, so I decided to flog myself:

3 hr tempo ride, middle 2:30 covered 47.9 mi with 3.5k elevation, good for ~19 mph on 211 watts AP. Weighed in at 151 lbs this AM prior.

Up next: sleeping in, and relaxing. Def. a couple fun mtb rides.

Being able to adjust chainline via bottom bracket is pretty neat. Like .5-1mm is all, but it's still neat.

You rowed before?
I remember doing it for the first time and feeling great. Then the next morning I woke up and could barely raise my arms/had enough arm strength to shave/wash my face.

competitive rowers make excellent cyclists, there's plenty of examples on a local and national/intl level. I imagine the opposite is true as well.

Yeah, I bought one of the Concept 2's a year or two before I got back into bikes. I never used it after getting back on the bike, it's just been sitting in the corner for the last 3-4 years. However, my upper body strength is a joke right now so I thought I'd give it a try again.

I did 15 minutes last week and 30 this week. Will probably go for 45 next week and hang with that for awhile. I'm pretty awful at it and only average 120w-130w, which seems pretty low. It's a completely different workout than the bike, thats for sure.

Today I put my brown bike on a serious diet. It lost 1 lb., 1.62 oz. (504 g.)

Can you see where it shed the fat?

Before

After

Wait are your tires that heavy? Aside from slightly different tires I cannot see a big difference, maybe I am losing my sight?

Yep, tires. The Specialized Fat Boy slicks (45mm) looked the part and offered nutso cornering grip. But after a while the honeymoon was over. They rolled great once you got 'em going, but getting up to speed an hills were too much effort. I got some Compass 35mm ultralights and the difference is jumbo. They seem to suck up the bumps just fine too.
