An added item here-- we replaced one of those nice and squishy comfy mats we had in our kitchen years back because the cat scratched the hell out of it and it had rips. I put it beside my bike stand now and it makes a real difference standing working on a bike or bikes for a long time, instead of on the concrete floor.
I don't care about it or my garage floor getting stuff on them, but it sure is easier on the ankles and knees with the mat. These are the kind you see cashiers using.

An old car floor or trunk mat is good to reuse this way too.

Nice! I need my eyes checked, thought that was a work bench in the first photo. Cool to see that being used as a daily driver.
