American Cycling Oct 1966
Every few years I unearth this magazine from my workbench pile. I like the Paramount ad with pricing on the back cover. And Greg Siple and TOSRV, with 45 participants. Entry fee $2.75

I started racing as a 13 year old, a couple of years earlier. Among the road bikes in the local bike shop, PX-10s were $120, Atalas were about $135, Legnanos were about $145, and Paramounts were way too expensive at $175.

American Cycling December, 1965 addressed to Dave Staub
The following from his obit.
" Dave grew up in San Francisco and started racing as a youngster. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1957, he toured Europe where he trained and competed in world-class events, including two World Championships on the track. After winning the first US medal in 30+ years at the Pan American Games, he enlisted in the Army's Special Services where he continued to race. He then found a job where he could continue his involvement with bicycles. He worked for Schwinn Bicycle Company for 28 years and later opened his own retail business, Brea Bicycle Works."
