I would say around $250-300 also. Nice bike but this is a late 80's PDG base model built in Japan so no were near the value of some of the US built Paramount's. As for the serial number most Japanese built bikes have the serial number on the under side of the Bottom Bracket, flip the bike over and it should be between the crank arms.

I hear these PDG bikes ride very nice and yours appears to be in great shape. I wish I could tell you it would bring $400+ but they just don't. I think the abovementioned estimates of $250-$300 are right.

Actually, it was the PDG Series 7 OS and PDG Series 5 OS Paramounts that were built in Japan by National/Panasonic. The lower end PDG Series 3 OS and PDG Series 2 OS Paramounts were built initially by A-Pro (Taiwan) and later in mainland China.

I would also estimate FMV of a Series 2 OS Paramount in excellent condition at ~$250-$300.

Maybe $250 - $300 or maybe even less given the lower-end components. The wheels, for example, are Schraeder-valved and something is going on with the tube on the front wheel. Also, you might want to remove the black T-shirt (or whatever that is) obscuring the seat, seatpost and seatlug. I can't for the life of me understand the purpose of leaving that on there for your pics

I don't completely agree with these low price appraisals. It looks like it's in fine shape, good paint job, and, it's very large. You should start at closer to $500 and be willing to take less (best offer).

$500 is dreamland and few buyers looking on CL want to spend that much. $500 also begins to compete with Waterford Paramounts.

Your bike is clean and well presented, but Shimano Exage 500 components with downtube shifters don't excite the soul. Location makes a difference on bike values too. Looking at the weeds, I'd say you're in the upper midwest or northeast US.

Having followed the Schwinn road bike market pretty closely, I think a value of $350 +/- 10% is about right for a local sale. Below is an asking price comp as well as sold comp, a partial Campagnolo equipped bike.

Shimano 105 Group - better/newer than Exage 500

Campagnolo (SR RD) + Shimano 600 = chipped paint, dirty, and heavily used.

turn the bike around so buyers can see the drive train in the full bike photo.

I sold one of those in the fall of 2011 for $300 with new consumables here in SoCal. I used to keep really good records. Not so much now. The OP has a large frame so statistically the buyer pool is smaller. The crank was one heavy beast IIRC. Still a nice rider.

FYI i have it listed on CL for $300. I think that's a very fair price for this bike in this nice condition. Just throw on new tires/tubes give her a quick tuneup and you got yourself a solid racer!

Have you read the rules for posting here? There is a separate paid section for selling your stuff.
