How old is your oldest ride T-Shirt or Jersey?
So, I was going thru some clothes in my closet earlier this morning when I came upon a t-shirt towards the back of the closet that was from a ride I did back in May of 2004 (Chicago's "Bike the Drive"). As I was looking at it, I thought to myself, "man, this thing will be 13 years old in May. It looks like it too." Kind of ragged with a few holes in it, but I just couldn't toss it a couple years ago when I did a clothes purge. I guess that's why it was tucked away way in the back.
I guess I'm just wondering about the rest of y'all and what the oldest t-shirt or jersey you have from an organized ride?
Post a pic of it, if you'd like. Here's mine.....
(The flash from my camera actually makes it look in better condition than it really is)

2004 ain't that old. I have a t-shirt from a 1995 bike event. I was just wearing it around the house on Sunday. I have a dollar to a donut that people here have ones even older than that. I know people in my neck of the woods who do.

Don't do many organized rides, don't wear jerseys, never get a shirt or jersey when I do.
Somewhere I have a pin from a ride I did in Germany back in the early 80's.

2014. Never bothered with such events til I started dating my fiancee, who loves them.
For the record, I hate most of the shirts given out. Make them an optional purchase and drop my fees $10, most just sit around home until they end up in the work shirt pile.

From 1968 until 2010 I was the roadie for the Sons of Champlin. I sold a concert tee from the 1969 Atlanta Pop Festival for $700. I sold another tee also from 1969, for $400. The second was the t-shirt given to artists who played at the Fillmore East. You couldn't buy this one in the lobby.
My Velo-Club Tamalpais jersey from 1972 is now in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution, where it accompanies Joe Breeze's watershed bike, "Breezer #1."

I can't believe I was able to put my hands right on this thing. There's no date on the shirt, but it would have been 1988 or 1989. Obviously I haven't worn it for many years. I have literally hundreds of t-shirts from events over the years. A few triathlon shirts that would pre-date the shirt pictured. If we're talking old shirts from non-cycling events. I have shirts from running races back into the mid-70s. Although most of them are included in a quilt that my mother made for me sometime in the late 80s.

Oldest I have is a Cycles Gitane from 1959 that was given to me by my trainer (it had been his). Oldest that I actually wore is a Montgomery Wheelmen (Montgomery AL or our coach Jim Montgomery, take your pick) from 1971.
@Repack Rider, I was a FOH engineer (Clair Bros, Rock & Road Audio) in the late 70's. Good to see other roadies on here. Awesome T from Filmore. I had a bunch of T's and silk jackets from tours but they all disappeared when we moved.

Well, you all have me beat. I didn't get back into riding until seven years ago when I was 63. Hadn't really ridden before that since I was in my early 40s but never did any organized or charity rides back then. My first organized/charity ride tee and jersey is from the 2011 MS 150 Citrus Tour.

In my bike closet somewhere, I have: Cycle Oregon 1994 & 1999, Wheeling Hawaii 1997, Seattle to Portland 1998-2000 (Tyvek jackets and vest). I still have water bottles from that era too. I had an MS 150 t-shirt from 1988, but it's lost now.

Ride T shirt as in organized ride?
I have a t shirt from 2003 and 1 jersey from a few years ago. I don't collect ride jerseys but the Breathless Agony jersey is an "earned" jersey. Finishers only!

I have 3 Pearl Izumi casual cycling shirts from 2002 that are as good as the day I bought them. One red,one blue, and 1 that is white that has a crankset chainring grease imprint permanently on it. Besides that they are all still super comftorable and not faded yet. They are not associated with a ride or event however.

mine are from 80's, I guess, I have them from my daddy, they are really the reason to feel proud about my father's past. When I was younger I even had a heat press machine which was used in my case to repeat the same prints on the t-shirts my father had. You know this thing when a child tends to repeat everything after his parents and especially such things related to sports, clothes, we all want to take after our parents and resemble them. Unfortunately, my dad has lost his uniform from 70's, so I decided to recreate this uniform and make him a present. I even purchased a new heat press machine which is more efficient nowadays and can be used in doing prints on mugs and other things as well. Thanks God, I discovered https://www.palmgear.com/best-heat-p...chine-reviews/, which suggested 15 best heat press machines which I chose from the most suitable!

I have a hard time throwing old clothes away - I really don't like shopping and I hate throwing away clothes until there are more holes than material. For an idea of how bad I can be - I work at home and my wife has actually gotten to the point where she's embarrassed at what I'm wearing working alone (well, on conference calls) in the basement and has thrown a couple of things out without checking with me (btw, I count old ride T-shirts as 'clothes').
What I will do, is if I've got an old T-shirt that is a) gotten pretty worn out or b) is one of those embarrassing colored shirts you sometimes get on a charity ride, I'll use the one least likely to be worn again as a rag to wipe down my chain after lubing. It gets a few months of use that way before finally being thrown out.

I have a cotton t-shirt from Canaan Mountain Series, held in Davis, W.Va. July 1996. Have some t-shirts from diff.rail-trails that may be a bit older, but no dates on them. Sorry, no pics-don't use any pic hosting sites.
