To tip or not to tip?
I’m in the home stretch of my custom bike build. And I was having some thoughts. Do you tip you frame builder at the completion of the project? How much and how do you deliver it?
For most every personal service we receive these days we tip, and I guess this shouldn’t be different. But is it?
Can anyone enlighten me on this protocol?

I am not a professional, so I only build frames for close friends, but I would not expect a tip from a customer. We have already agreed upon a price for the project. I would be happy with getting some positive feedback from the customer after a few weeks of riding their new bike. Knowing the customer is pleased with their purchase is far more valuable to me.

It has never even occurred to me to think of receiving a tip for a frame/fork commission. For wrench work, sure, but not for a frame build.

In Which Country ? Humble shop mechanics appreciate tips.. *
Maybe invite them , (& spouse) to dinner? Pick choice.. your favorite restaurant or theirs ?
On a bike tour through England I needed a big wrench ro pull my freewheel to replace a spoke,
after the fix we went for pints at the Pub..
