Need cassette recommendation
I have a friend building a bike with all Campagnolo 8 speed but has an 8 speed Shimano wheelset. Is there a cassette that fits shimano hub and will work with Campagnolo drive train?
Help is much appreciated in advance.

I'm sure someone who has done this will be able to provide more information, but here is my take on it...
Rule number 1, Capagnolo 8 speed cassettes are wider than Shimano 8 speed cassettes, so you need to make sure that Campagnolo spacing will fit on the Shimano 8 speed freehub.
Sheldon Brown's cassette cribsheet.
https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-spacing.html
Shimano 8 speed freehubs were usually Uniglide/Hyperglide and limited to 8 speed and not 8-10 speed. An Ultegra 6402 freehub is an example of an 8 speed freehub.
If the freehub body is an 8-10 you can run 8 speeds with Campagnolo spacing. It is is not, you can run 7 of 8 speeds, at the Campagnolo spacing.
There may be manufacturers that make 8 speed Campagnolo spaced cassettes that will fit a Shimano freehub. If not, you can get a non-spidered/carrier 8 speed Shimano (SRAM, Sunrace, etc) cassette and take it apart and use 3.1mm 7 speed spacers between the cogs. I've never re-spaced a cassette to Campagnolo spacing, but I've re-spaced enough to work with different speed shifter cable pull to know it is pretty easy.

It's a Miche Primato cassette, known far and wide (I guess not wide enough) to offer Campy spacing for Shimano hubs. The 'component compatibility' refers to the shifters/derailleurs it will work with. You can trust me on this one, I've installed lots of them.

I did see this one and before I've posted the question here i spent a good 7200 seconds looking for a compatible cassette but also one that isn't overseas.
bikeinn states the miche is compatible with Shimano HG hubs only. Wont work.

Look up Jtek Shiftmate. The Shiftmate 1 lets you use an 8-speed Campy shifter and rear derailleur with an 8-speed Shimano cassette.

I'd go with the Shiftmate as everything else is pretty much a kludge.

Constant tinkerer
Shiftmates are a kludge.
Just get a 7-speed Shimano cassette and toss an extra cog on the back/front. According to Sheldon's cassette spacing table, it's the same 5.0mm cog spacing as a Campy 8-speed. 7-speed Shimano cassettes are cheap and readily available, or at least they were the last time I bought them...

I never said theres fear of overseas. To begin with its not my personal build so to recommend ordering from overseas might not be a route my friend would want to take. And 2 the wait time is uncertain.
Its easiest to see if there's a cassette that can be used without having to order extra parts.

All Shimano road 8 speed freehubs will accept a 6-7-8-9-10 speed cassette. 6 and 7 require spacers behind the cassette, of course, but 8-9-10 speed Shimano compatible cassettes are all the same width.
At this very moment, I have 6402 and 7403 hubbed wheelsets running 6, 8, 9 & 10 speed cassettes on different bikes.

Thanks!
John
Edit Added: I do know that a 7403 will take a 10 speed cassette because I remember when miamijim stuffed a 7403 with a 10 speed cassette into a 126mm old.

I dug out 9 speed and 10 speed cassettes and tried them on a 6402 freehub body and they do fit.
I don't want to have anyone read this thread and think they wouldn't fit; not that anyone now, or years from now, would have a reason to believe, or care, what I say.
