velo plugs for Mavic Open Pro?

I use Continental rim strips - no issues. I'm thinking of trying the veloplugs as they are lighter and I like the idea that the wont shift.

Anyone try these with Mavic Open Pro rims? If so, which size should I get (I'm too lazy to undo the tire and their website doesn't list it).

Thanks

the weight savings will be minimal, open pro are not super light. cloth tape (velox is my choice) works.....what is benefit?

It seems to me that Open Pros have a grommet or metal piece of some kind that reinforces the spoke hole drilling that goes all the way to the bed of the rim. I don't think the hole on the rim bed has a sharp single-layer lip that a Velo Plug needs.

But I have never used Velo Plugs and I'm relying on my memory of Open Pro rims.

I've never experienced Velox tape sliding around once it's laid down. If you want something lighter, there are lighter tapes. Rox's heavy duty stuff weighs about 4 grams per wheel and works well.

I just took a look at it. The Continental Easy tape is very light. Not sure any weight savings would be noticeable. The thing that convinced me to stay with the Easy Tape is that the rim has a rough spot at the weld which would not be protected by the veloplugs. Once seated correctly, the Easy Tape does not move.

No need to fix what ain't broken

Thanks y'all
