I need need adjusting barrels and nuts for my Giant Escape 0's Tektro CL530-RS brake levers. Where can I purchase these in the UK or Ireland?

These are typically fairly generic and I pull them off off old bikes.

Tektro say I should be looking for M10*1.0 adjusters.

Do you think I’d be safe to buy any M10 without reference to the 1.0?

The X 1.0 matters.

If you do not find what you want you can install inline adjusters, which function identically and can be mounted at any convenient point in the cable housing run..

Not seeing anything listed beyond diameter I'd assume they mostly use the same pitch in a given diameter.

Everyone I've replaced I just dug around in my can of small parts and said, "this one fits" without measuring anything, including on the brakes of my mom's walker.

The pitch matters. The most common M10 bolts have a thread pitch of 1.5 mm. Finer pitch M10 bolts are available in M10x1.25 and M10x1.0. You have to match the pitch.

Seems impossible to buy on-line - no-one stipulates the pitch.

That's what leads me to believe they are mostly the same. You could contact the seller and ask, take your chances and just buy some, or maybe check a local shop instead of on line..

Just off chat with Halfords - tech guy says 1.5 is the standard and will work with my levers - I've just ordered.

Halfords said 1.5 and Tektro told you 1.0. When you get the 1.5 pitch adjuster from Halfords, install it VERY carefully to see if it threads in easily. If it binds after a turn or two, you have the wrong thread pitch and will damage the brake lever.
