Brake lever: Adjusting barrels
I need need adjusting barrels and nuts for my Giant Escape 0's Tektro CL530-RS brake levers. Where can I purchase these in the UK or Ireland?

These are typically fairly generic and I pull them off off old bikes.

Tektro say I should be looking for M10*1.0 adjusters.
Do you think I’d be safe to buy any M10 without reference to the 1.0?

If you do not find what you want you can install inline adjusters, which function identically and can be mounted at any convenient point in the cable housing run..

Really any decent bike shop should have these.

Not seeing anything listed beyond diameter I'd assume they mostly use the same pitch in a given diameter.
Everyone I've replaced I just dug around in my can of small parts and said, "this one fits" without measuring anything, including on the brakes of my mom's walker.

Just off chat with Halfords - tech guy says 1.5 is the standard and will work with my levers - I've just ordered.

Halfords said 1.5 and Tektro told you 1.0. When you get the 1.5 pitch adjuster from Halfords, install it VERY carefully to see if it threads in easily. If it binds after a turn or two, you have the wrong thread pitch and will damage the brake lever.
