The fork is not bent. Maybe the photographer... No, after 32 years I finally got a new BB, stem set, and swapped to v-brakes. It's a 1987 steel frame. Rides like new... or, at least NOW it rides like a new 1987 Giant Iguana. (Sorry, for some reason my text wasn't posting.)

Where'd you find the tires with the gumwalls on just one side?
Take a photo straight from the side, without pointing down at the bike. Fork sure looks bent.

If the front wheel was straight it might line up better. Could be the angle? We need a better picture, everything straight, drive side.

I'm solidly in the camp saying that it's impossible to tell if a fork is subtly bent based on photos that are angled and where the front wheel is not pointing straight ahead... And will happily trust the owner of 32 years to know whether it's bent or not.

Exactly. How do so many people claim to see a bent fork, when the experience they claim to have SHOULD tell them, that everything is NOT always what it seems to be? 🤔👀

Mine dropped out of school, then got some ambition and got some additional training.

Well, I'm the original owner, and it's never been crashed. There is no indication it's bent--- no wrinkled or cracked paint, no misalignment, no deformed metal. On a flat counter, both legs are parallel, and, with a straight edge, the axle is about an inch ahead of the steering head angle. If it's bent, it's bent in perfect symmetry. The steering angle is pretty steep. I have a NOS fork somewhere, so I'll dig it out and compare them, but I've done that before, and they were the same.

Photos are not ideal but from what I see I am amazed that that fork is not making the bike stiffer and more responsive (twitchy).

Crashed, bent in shipping when new, jigged wrong at the factory...it doesn't matter. The fact is that the fork is not raked as it was meant to be (yes, bent forks can be bent perfectly symmetrical).
There's about 2.5" to 3" of rake in the factory fork, as intended - not 1". This thing probably handles like a Raleigh DL-1 trying to be a road bike. You'd be wise to consider taking the advice of the bent fork crowd, for no other reason other than to rectify the handling issues this bike undoubtedly has.
You might want to cut the rear brake cable a bit shorter too - I know the braze-ons are on the wrong side for the V-brakes, but that's a huge loop of housing.
