Levis Commuter Jeans

For urban commuting I might bite.. Regular jeans like 50 bucks.. Urban commuters usually don't ride all that far..Should you live in hot climates; , what about the sweat factor.. you'll likely still need to shower when you get to work.. Besides standard kit is likely more than 79 bucks.

I'll take some rolled-up dickies with a belt for four dollars.
Especially when the only job is washing dishes.

I can easily my Kryptonite Evolution mini in the back pocket of my jeans when I don't have a bag, so I don't see a need for jeans specifically designed to hold a u-lock.

And hows that water resistance? Because that would be the big thing for me and commuting around school.

Ask a girl that you like which shoes are hot and I bet she's pick some basic shoe from Footlocker. And if you are interested in getting her attention, I suggest you get those. But, if you want attention from a bunch of dudes on the internet, spend $400 on some funky colored sneakers that should retail for $80. (sorry for the rant).
I'd actually be wary of someone who judges people by their shoes, actually, but maybe that's just me.

people like people that are confident. some girls can't be confident without 3 pounds of eyeliner and foundation on. some guys can't be confident without limited edition kicks and fresh threads.
these pants have some function to them which is why i bought them. my swerves don't have a u-lock holster and my outliers are too nice to ride casual in.
it's about swaaaagggg
unless it's about schwag

My birthday is coming up and sweet hipster store urban outfitters gave me a 20% coupon so I might pick these up. Apparently Urban Outfitters is carrying a charcoal version with the zipper pocket. It looks good.

i still don't understand why anyone would pay for these when you can get 65$ quality padded cycling shorts and then just throw pants over top of them when you arrive at your desired location. not to mention the added benefits of quad compression.

I'll stick to my thrifty $5-10 pants from savers/garage sales/etc.
More money for doing cool stuff.

The biggest benefit for me really is the fact that it is weatherproof. This isn't really comparable to cycling shorts, since they're not necessarily padded. It's a different kind of cycling wear, not a be-all-end-all. I have a good waterproof/breathable jacket, but when the rain gets rough, I'd like to have protection on my legs too.

Well we have similar stores--REI, Sports Basement, etc.
The thing is, I don't use my mountain/climbing pants to cycle in. The fit is too loose, and I'm very skinny to begin with. The last thing I want to do in a rainstorm is roll up my pants.

Sir, I must say you lack logic.
I know they don't do climbing, but I only own climbing wear from REI. If I'm going to buy new pants, why wouldn't I just buy these pants that I could use for more than just one activity? That aside, the pants you linked are not waterproof nor long for that matter.
I wouldn't want to roll up my pants in a rainstorm because it is ****ing raining. Defeats the purpose of wearing long pants if I'm still getting wet, no?

Perhaps I'm the vain one. All I'm saying is I don't want to show up to class in wet spandex, with wet spandex underneath and soaking through my regular pants, or having to change before actually going in class. And for the price I would get these--around $65--it doesn't pain me to have another pair of jeans I can wear around.
I'm not anti-lycra. There is a time and a place for it. Huge distance ride? Sure. However, in my opinion, commuting to and from school in the rain is not one of them.

Myself and all of my female friends most certainly do not give a crap about male shoes, so perhaps I am speaking for a minority.
I will, however, say that if someone considers shoe fashion before other attributes such as interestingness or, as cc pointed out, confidence, they may have their priorities a little confused.
I read that and thought of this:
(Sorry.)
