No pressure on my brake level Help!

Hello

Recently my Shimano XTR brake level started feeling kinda weird with less play as I squeeze it down so I decide to play around with it and unscrew the nut where the cable meets the braking level unit (no sure what its called) and a small amount of dark fluid gusted out now my brake level has so pressure at all and it doesn't work. What should I do to fix this?? Bleed out the brake fluid and pump in new ones?

Thanks in advance.

Fluid came out, air went in. And as mineral oil is either clear or a very light added color, dark means it needs to be changed. Flush and fill time.

Not too hard to bleed brakes if you get the kit and watch a YouTube video. Or do like I did and remove them and install cable disc brakes. Hydraulic is better but not for on the road like I am plus just love my BB7s.

Is it necessary to remove your brake calipers when bleeding brakes? Im watching this video and he's removal it but i'm trying to avoid having to do that if its not necessary.

It's only two bolts. You remove the caliper to get it as low as possible, to keep air out of the line. It's not 100% necessary to do it on the front (as it's already at the bottom of the brake line) but I remove the rear caliper every time.
