Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

All the protein in my body has been replaced with whey many times over.

The upright was out of service so I took my fave road bike. No pain whatsoever. I'll give it a few more days, to maybe a week. Woo woo

I'm probably somewhere around 6k/yr without the trips, too. The VW is coming up on 8 years old and has 97k on it. A lot a lot a lot of that is between MN and VA.

I've really been slacking on the bike maintenance lately; looks like I've got some work to do: (just off the top of my head)

Basso: Lube Rear Der. Pulleys and chain, repack hubs.
Ellsworth:New rear tire
Preston:Tighten BB, add tubeless goop
Tandem: build new rear wheel, Remove link from timing chain, Adjust BB
Swobo: lube chain, install new seatpost clamp, eliminate creak

I was going to suggest Merlin as well. No personal purchases either but frequently gets mentioned on BF. $446 for rim, $615 for disc group set it looks like.
