That tempo is awesome. Some guy was selling one on CL up here. It was crap but I saw it had HUGE potential to do something just like you did... then i noticed the hugest dent in the top tube and passed.

Hi all - new member here, and I just ordered a Dawes Streetfighter.

Oouellette, what handlebars are on the middle one, and how do you like them for general upright exercising and getting around bike paths?

I'm in! I've thought about building/getting a SS for quite some time and when I received this frameset on Friday, I decided to take the plunge and so far, I'm totally thrilled with it! I plan to ride it SS for the foreseeable future.

18" Husker Blu Karate Monkey frameset
Cane Creek S2 headset
Deore crankset w/36t chainring
Surly 18t SS cog
Deore V-brakes
Race Face Respond handlebar
Oury lock-on grips
Velocity Dyad rims
High flange touring hubs (wheels built by Rich Lesnik of Rivendell Bicycle Works)
40mm Schwalbe Dureme tires (I plan to replace them with Maxxis 2.1" Torches)
Topeak saddlebag
Garmin bicycle computer
Ixon IQ light (only mounted at night)
Generic seatpost, saddle, stem and pedals.

They are Velo Orange Porteur bars, upside-down. They're just about perfect for a more relaxed riding position.

It's still attached to my old bike hanging in the garage. I really dislike setting up brakes and just haven't gotten around to moving it the new bike. My neighborhood is mostly flat with long sight-lines and my gearing causes me to spin-out at about 12 mph so a rear brake has been a low priority. I know it would be better to have it installed but....procrastination....

Updates to two of my bikes. Added MKS pedal flips to the MKS Prime Sylvan Touring pedals on my Messenger and a Crane E-Ne matte black alloy bell to the 721. Also, added a Bojac sticker to the 721 and removed a half-link from the chain to slam the rear wheel.
