You didn't mention price or frame material, unless I just missed it. I wouldn't ignore a Cannondale. I bought one for the first time in 40 yrs. of cycling last June. A CAAD 12 and it is amazing. Short money too.

That Eddy Merckx looks really good. Problem is I don't know of any bikes shops in MA that sell them. My go to Cervelo shop is Fit Werx in your neck of the woods - they also sell Parlee. I'm on an S5 and love it.

I am getting a fitting done by them as soon as things open up again. They recommended I look at the Parlee and the S3 Cervelo.

You can get the Eddy online but it's tough without seeing it in person or riding one. Also there is very little info out there on them.

With your budget, you can pick from the latest and greatest. It will come down to fit, ride, and color scheme. I would highly recommend the Di2.

With those parameters I'm not sure you could go wrong. I tend to lean toward the exotic in things mechanical (cars: Lotus, Audi, BMW, etc. and moto: Ducati) so I am drawn to Italian bikes. I'd be going down the Pinarello, Colnago, DeRosa path with full Campy. Then again, at this point in my life, I am happy with my Corvette...I mean...CAAD 12.

Pinarello is my ultimate dream bike but I am to old and inflexible to fit a true race bike. Any thoughts or experience with Wilier?

I have no experience with Wilier. And, I have a feeling I'm older that you. This June I'll be 74. Even broke my neck in a crash and had C1 & C2 fused back in 2013. But, for some reason I am still decently flexible. That said, I'm not in the drops very often.

If you have an S5 on your list, a Pinarello would also fit. But really, i go back to the R5 that I had recommended earlier as being the ideal bike for what you describe.

I rented a Wilier carbon something or the other 4-5 years ago in the French Alps. Lovely bike, lot of fun to ride. That extremely vague and general info is all i got...

I have the S3 on my list not S5 it is a bit more relaxed. Riding the French Alps must have been a blast!

I just picked up a Roadmachine 01 Four for 10% off at a local Dallas bike shop. I was coming off a Diverge sport that I was riding with road tires instead of gravel tires. I was looking for something comfortable but more sporty. The Roadmachine fits the bill perfectly for me. It light and fast and is a bit more upright than a race bike. I’ve ridden it over 300 miles in the last 3 weeks. I can’t recommend it enough.

I don't know about the Pinarello. My F12 is fast but it is also very, very stiff. It is by no means a comfortable ride. It's fine, but it's no endurance bike. I don't know about other Pinarello models, as I haven't ridden them. It is also the longest/lowest of my three road bikes in terms of stance, so it requires some core strength and flexibility.

I have been really loving my Canyon Ultimate. Unfortunately, I haven't had an opportunity to try the Endurace, but if it's simply a more upright/compliant version of my Ultimate, I can imagine that bike would be a treat. I find my Ultimate to be great at damping road chatter and, frankly, quite comfortable for long rides even though it's supposedly a "race" geometry. Their 30 day return policy is worth considering, as it gives you an opportunity to really try out the bike before you commit. That's a pretty big benefit. You can get a lot more bike for the money if you go the Canyon route.

Honestly, I think a lot of these high-end carbon endurance bikes are fantastic. The differences often come down to small nit picks or subtleties of fit. Every bike on your list looks pretty sweet to me!

So I had my fitting today. It ruled out a few bikes. I have longis legs as compared to my torso so a tougher fit.

This shortened my list to:
Argon 18 Krypton Pro
Trek Emonda
Cervelo S3
Cervelo R3

Any final thoughts or words of wisdom?

I test rode a Emonda ALR5 and own a Domane SL5. I found the rides to be very different. This was last year the Emonda was a 2019 model the Domane is a 2018. I love the Domane, though the paint job is rather blah to look at.
