NOS Suntour Cogs: what are they?
I got a pile of NOS Suntour freewheel cogs. Many are Perfect, Pro Compe, and New Winner (which I am familiar with). But there are also these, which I am not, and they don't fit any of those models. I don't think they are cassette cogs. Anyone have an idea what model they are for? #pastorbobnlnh ?

Thanks. From the Yellow Jersey site it looks like they might be WinnerPro cogs, but I'm not finding a color cog chart that shows these cogs. link?

Yeah, I think Suntour's cassette cogs have round holes for the pins, which yours do not have. I can't verify that this is 100% correct, but I can verify it for the cassette cogs I have and for the pics I've been able to find online.

The Winner Pro's were my favorites, if only because almost all of the cogs were splined. Only the smallest cogs had to be unscrewed off the body.
The AP cogs, I think, were for the indexed SunTour derailleurs. I've got some cogs marked like this, but really don't know much about them.
I "inherited" a box full of cogs from a friend. They are mostly the stuff for Pro-Compe, Perfect, and New Winner. While SunTour really tried to make everything backward compatible (sort of), as well as making a scheme where one body could support quite a number of configurations, you could argue that things got out of control.
In my inventory of cogs, I have four different kinds of 18 tooth cogs (A, B, R and T versions). For 16 tooth cogs, I've got 6 versions: A, B, R, T, V, and X.
This is just what I've got... who knows how many more versions might exist??!!
I should also mention that I've three different versions of cogs marked "E14" too. This includes two different I.D.'s (38mm and 43mm), two flange thicknesses, and threaded and splined versions. So, if anyone talks to you about an E14 cog, make sure you know what specific version they are referring to!
Steve in Peoria
(if anyone is looking for a cog or two, I've got some that I should get rid of )
