Pinarello Catena Lusso
My brother is back in the states for a bit and asked me if I would help sell one of his bikes which has been in my basement for several years now (occasionally getting out for a ride.) I'll have to identify some of the components on it, but this will give a good idea. None of the parts are original (he bought it on ebay and sold off everything that was on it). Its a nice riding bike, just a tad small for me (prefer a 56).
1985 Pinarello Catena Lusso, Columbus Aelle tubing ST: 54cm C-C, TT: XX C-C, original paint and decals, showing typical Pinarello decal wear
All the parts are lightly used / good to excellent condition.
Details:
Crankset: Campagnolo Record/Super Record: 170 mm crankarms, 52/42 chainrings
Bottom Bracket: Campagnolo Nuovo Record
Freewheel: Suntour Winner Pro 6 speed
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Super Record
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Super Record
Brakeset: Campagnolo Athena monoplanar, Athena levers
Seatpost: Campagnolo ???
Wheelset: Campagnolo ??? 36 hole laced to Campagnolo Chorus hubs
Bars: 3T
Stem: Salsa
Headset: Campagnolo
Pedals: ???
Saddle: ???
Any idea of what this might be worth, given the parts. Or should I advise him to part it out?

There's been one on ebay for months with Shimano 600, at $450. It's a lower end frame in the Pinarello stable. Yours does have a nicer parts complement than the one on ebay though.

This is definitely a bike worth more parted out...it’s a relatively low end (for pinarello) and a Frankenstein. I don’t know your market in Illinois, but in Philly, maybe $500 on a good day, and if patient. On eBay, as a whole bike, the cost to ship hurts...I doubt it’s worth more than $500 there, less fees.
