2019 Mileage and Hours Challenge

Part of being successful in a competitive sport is just doing it. How many miles and / or hours did you ride? All mileage and hours count including road, track, trainer, rollers Zwift, gym and etc.

6260 road miles YTD that does not include track or trainer miles. Maybe add another 1000 miles for track and trainer.

I'm on track for a bit over 600 hours and 11,300ish for the year, up from 512/9500 in 2018. I probably started out too quickly out of the gate - tried to make up for a few months of lost training and dug a hole I did not climb out of til September. Sometimes less is more.

So far I'm at 4,470 miles, 249 Hours, and 281,568 ft climbing.

Added a little over 120 KOM's to the collection in the process.

So far about 500hrs since 1/1, mainly indoors, but notable outdoor rides were 2 solo centuries and a 150mile gravel race, and I raced 11 CX races, 2 crits and 1 road race.

According to training peaks, I did about 240 hours on the bike and about 105 hours in the gym. That seemed low to me, but I missed about 8 weeks dealing with injuries, and many of my track days are incredibly short.

Cycling Analytics is giving me some funny numbers where the mileage and hours do not correlate resulting in a high average speed. I am going with the mileage and use my typical average speed to compute hours. 364 hours on the road. Gym time is about 3x40 minutes per week of actual workout time including rest between sets. I do not miss any weeks. 2x52 or about 100 hours in the gym per year.

Been averaging about 10 hours a week this year. Most of my miles are in doors on zwift, so kind of meaningless.

607 hours, 10,785 for the year.

My cadence has significantly dropped since Thanksgiving Vacation (when I took a week off the bike), I'm going to have to pick it up again.

There's a big 'trend' about taking a week off of training to refresh the body, which imo may work psychically but psychologically it guts your momentum.

Trainingpeaks says I have 3:53 average hours per week of all workout types, but I know I haven't entered all workouts, and don't ever put in a duration if it is gym work. That comes to about 200 hours for the year, but I suspect it is more like 250 hours excluding gym work, and 300 with gym work. I really should get better about tracking this and using it to improve my training.

Late update - Training Peaks now reports I rode 873,704 miles last week. So, I think I win.

Run and bike:

4900mi
275hr
232k feet

I attribute the higher elevation this year to Zwift since indoor rides accumulate elevation versus without.
