Funny story first Flat in few years
I have to share a funny story from a few weeks ago with the theme, "share adversity". We decided to ride up to Mount Gretna, PA which is a very hilly ride out into the hills and woods of South Central PA. You do not ride through any towns and for sure no bike shops. About 8 miles in coming down a hill we run across some gravel and pinch-flat. I keep a presta/shrader adapter on the stem of the rear wheel so I can visually see I've got it each ride. We use that with our CO2 cartridges. I take the wheel off and hand my wife the adapter to hold while I change out the tube, behind me I hear a ping sound as the adapter bounces off the boom tube and I hear "whoops". For 15 minutes we search the grass to no available. You know that moment you realize your ride home is standing there with you? :-) So we are in the middle of nowhere and call an Uber who finds us using their gps and takes me home to retrieve the needed adapter. We make the repair and have a great rest of our ride with a fun memory, adversity, maker of memories, 45 years married loving and learning each day.

So did you then learn from this experience to next time carry an inflation solution that doesn't require an adapter? There are lots of pumps and Co2 inflators that work on presta valves. Why complicate things?

Added another adapter to the tool kit until I figure out what I'm doing long-term.:-)
