This sucks. Be safe out there!
I rode past this scene on Santiago Canyon yesterday. We had no idea what was going on as we were headed in the opposite direction and emergency response was already on the scene. Not much info contained in the article other than the cyclist fell off his bike. Perhaps a flat tire or road debris? Condolences to his family and friends.

Edit: Update - the victim was Aliso Viejo resident John Smith; reports indicate his front tire blew out after hitting a sharp rock at 40 mph.

Dang. That's a great price! I love Frys! Did you mail-order or walk in. Walking in is dangerous for me just because they have so many cool toys that I didn't know I can' live without.

walk in....it was dangerous

walked out SSD, windows 10, and new 32" samsung curved monitor 144Hz
https://www.samsung.com/us/computing...c32hg70qqnxza/

then my corsair K70 RGB Keyboard died while I was out pedaling across cali, that was another trip to the store

I'd think a quality keyboard with 50million key strokes will last longer then 3 yrs....I'm trying Razer this time around

Bicyclist dies after falling from his bike on Santiago Canyon Road ? Orange County Register

I saw this on Facebook this morning. I have descended dump hill many times at that speed. Scary.

Wow, that keyboard looks amazing. You carried that on your tour?

If I wanted to try out a clicky-clacky mechanical(-ish) keyboard, is there anything worth buying for, say, under $30?

HAHA i didn't carry it on tour, but when I came back and went to upload my 2k photos and couldn't type

I got the k70 when RGB first came out. This time around I got a razer blackwidow chroma x tournament v2 (i hope it last longer), i don't use the num pad often and my work rig has shorten board as well (corsair K65). I wanted something a bit quieter for my home but still has the mechanical tactile. Dope board and looks sharp

K65 non LED
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

I was doing some searching amazon and overclock forums. And the no name brands seems to hit or miss

refirb'd version of what I have, I'd get the $9 3yr extra warranty for peace of mind
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-a16-Tou...er++Tournament

non lite version

https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Blackwi...ished+keyboard

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01645FHEI...506637119&sr=3

if $30 is strict, this one gets good reviews on amazon, but you may want to do more HW. https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-KUMA...57&sr=8-2&th=1

Cool, went and did a little googling myself,

Keyboards are not a detail! | Armed and Dangerous

https://www.howtogeek.com/313193/the...ards-under-40/

That redragon is on that list too.

I think I would prefer blue or brown (clone) switches rather than red. I used to have a clicky keyboard that I loved, just because of the noise, I didn't realize it was also good for my fingers.

the corsairs I've been using are Red keys. the Razer I got is "yellow" so far so good, seems less effort to type and bit less noise in dB but still clacky. I haven't had time to play games on it yet. Maybe this weekend. But I think I can type slightly faster on the new razer board vs the K65 I'm on right now.

Happy National Coffee Day fellow bike enthusiasts! Not that we need an excuse to get out and ride (right!?) but many coffee shops are offering free coffee today.

Well I'm already at work, so that reminds me to go get my free mediocre coffee from the flavia machine

Arm warmer weather today ... my toes were a little cold too.

Another dog encounter today on another new road ... this one wasn't too bad, a big German Shepherd, seemed like he couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to chase me or just bark at me, and he was at the top of a hill so I wasn't moving very fast. Once he stopped barking at me I did the "shout GO in as loud and booming a voice as I can muster" thing and he left me alone.

Well if it makes any difference, since I didn't have to work yesterday and had a ton of stuff to do around the house so I never made it to any place local to get my free coffee either.
