I think I made it out of the Clydesdale category

A pre-diagnosis of non-alcoholic liver disease (my first appt. with the specialist is later this month) caused me to radically change my diet and exercise. So no alcohol. No Tylenol. No Advil. No fried foods, very little or no red meat, no cheese, very little dairy, low salt, no processed flour, only whole grains, no processed sugar, only natural sugars in a limited amount of fruit, honey, and maple syrup.

I joined gyms at work in Cincinnati and home Dayton. So no excuse for not working out. And as the weather allows cycling. 3 hours on the docket for today.

Many meals with veggies, as you really can't get "full" with massive amounts of veggies .

224-198.

Every time I got below 200, I went right back up. Not this time. I'm hoping to not loose too much weight and that the specialist increases my diet options. This is especially worrisome with cycling season starting .

What did I learn. 100% commitment=success. It is amazing how dying or a liver transplant will motivate me, a very know it all, stubborned person to perfect compliance.

My wife commented, you have not had any alcohol since your first diagnosis...(two and a half months ago) not a drop. When we are busy as heck at work...I leave and work out at lunch. And guess what. The world has not ended.

Looking forward to better health and a great riding season!!

Good

Because I like this forum. As one who has broken spokes on rides, I have always enjoyed this forum .

JJ, the beauty of getting stronger is, too, that more muscle mass equals faster metabolism, so it can become easier to keep it off. So long as you remain fit and "keep your head" with your nutrition, that is. If changing the lifestyle so fully, it'll be that much easier to stick with too (as I'm sure you're finding out).

Good job on the improvements. Stay healthy. And injury free.

Congratulations.
