I am happy to guide you, or anyone for that matter, at any time on a unique "stupid climb" ride.

Hhh
I did the ride this year, very well run, rest stops fully loaded...all energy was Stinger products. I did HHH in 2016 and it was better this year than that year and I did not find it disappointing at all then either.
I do not eat immediately after a ride anyway, drink beer I do, and it was cold, plentiful and tasty. I for one, am very happy to see new ownership that appreciates the area, and bikers alike. DD has always been full of posers too.
looking forward to it.

One thing I like about the DD is that it is deep in the summer which gives me time to put some miles on my legs.

I will freely admit that I have not ridden the HHH in over a decade and they very well have a new a different experience than what I had. I know the DD totally tanked in the last decade. HHH very well may be great management. The DD really can't be worse than what it turned to be after Stew bowed out.

I did DD in 2015, which apparently was the last "good" year.

My favorite was the last year at Land's End, I think. Stellar. Bratwursts at the Governor Dodge rest stop after climbing The Wall. Then you did it again. The climb out of the Wyoming Valley was simply placed exactly where it would do you the most harm. The volunteers forgot to limit draft beer to 2/person. Bratwurts again at the end, or fresh grilled burgers or dogs. C&V folks in the tent and at the picnic table. One of the best rides, ever. Thanks to @iab.

You are correct. 2015 was amazing, but they ran out of beer and I was one if the unlucky ones. In 2017, IMHO the most lovey ride ever, but ****ty support. I for one am looking forward for a revive, as I hope we can stimulate what you started so long ago.

This isn't the year, but I will reiterate my suggestion to move this whole kitandkabutle to Bike the Barns. Great vibe and best food ever. Biggest problem is the steep entry at $135. It will limit participation.

BTB is also a fundraiser for community agriculture, so that partly explains the three digits.
On a semi-side note, I just read that this year's Wright Stuff is a fundraiser for Free Bikes 4 Kidz. Only did it once, myself, about 2004, and it was... er... hilly enough. No idea what it's like these days; back then, the last 5-ish miles was from "downtown" Mount Horeb back to the chalet at TyDBowl... er... Tyrol Basin, all gentle downhill on a dead quiet and shady back road.

Got the e-mail overnight: registration for the 2020 Dairyland Dare on August 15th is now open.
31 riders have already signed up, and I'm one of them (150K); if you are one of the first 100 to register there's a modest discount.

I do not know if I'm in this year or not. I've made my list and sent it to my main riding partner to look over. We'll negotiate what works the best for both of us, I'm sure. She needs 23 centuries to get to 100. She expected to do 8 last year and did 12. I expected to do 2 and did 7.
Ride Across Wisconsin is also on 8/15/20, and while not as hilly, that's day 1 (130 miles) if a person is doing the 2-day option. Otherwise, it's 225 (really 229.1 if you count in/out of the rest stops).

Goal is to do this hopefully this year. Some weight to lose and fitness to gain first, but I've heard it's fun!

Looks like the 2020 DD dates conflict with another ride I want to sign up for,
I'm thinking of signing up for TOMRV. I just signed up for TOMRV. By all accounts that's a well run ride and it has enough hills to keep pretty much everyone happy here except maybe RobbieTunes .
The price is reasonable, $95 which includes an evening meal, breakfast, rest stops, and luggage transportation. There are camping and hotel options. Plus free hills: 3400 ft the first day on the "short" route of 75 miles, 4500 on the 106 route; 2700 on the "short" 2d day ride of 50 miles, 4,000 on the long 90 miler 2d day ride. I'm doing the short both days (125 miles and 6100 ft of climbing).
Lots of hills, lots of miles, lots of food . . . . What more could anyone want?
Now I just have to build an old bike for that ride (and get in shape) . . .

Will be keeping an eye on the DD for this year. I haven't confirmed the dates for my usual August trip to Colorado, so not yet sure if this works our not.

If you decide to do the DD, let me know. Have my eye on that Air BnB we stayed at a few years ago..

We definitely are NOT going this year. I will miss the beautiful area of WI, We have however, added some other rides this year to perhaps make up for it. I think the most interesting new ride this year for us will be the Horsey Hilly Hundred in KY.
