T2000 Front Derailleur Cable Routing - Help Needed
Wondering if anyone could help me understand if my front derailleur cable routing is incorrect.
Attached is a picture of the cable routing from underneath. Cable on the left is the front derailleur. Is this the correct routing? I would think it should be routed up through the hole in the frame with some type of cable protection, not just pulled tight against the bottom bracket. If this is incorrect, is the rubber cable routing plate not correct? Should it be routed in the middle of this routing plate? I bought the tandem used, so I suspect it was just done incorrectly.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
JW

Although I'm not near my Cannondale tandem right now, I'm quite sure the cable (without a housing) shouldn't rub against the frame like that. I can try to check it out tomorrow and get back to you with more specifics.

That is incorrect. The front derailleur cable goes through the middle position then through the hole. You have it routed to the area if a rear disc/drum brake cable is used. You'll notice that spot is slightly raised so if a rear disc brake is used it will not touch the front derailleur cable.

Awesome and thank you! I knew that looked wrong the moment I turned over the bike. Just wasn't sure if the middle would be ok, but that makes sense with a rear drum brake. Bought the bike this way and assumed it was factory. Apparently not.
