Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Competitive has 50% off of some Quarq power meters cranksets - looks like there's a couple sub-$600 options for those with GXP or BB30 bottom brackets (no chainrings).

Just ordered a Wahoo Elemnt from Amazon for $125. Not sure how long that price will last. Certainly don't need it, but wanted to try Wahoo.

Love my Wahoo Bolt, easy to use, syncs easily to everything. And Wahoos are now compatible with the Garmin Varia.

Both of the low-priced sellers for Elemnts are brand new vendors with no feedback - that would make me more than a little leery, but if you don't mind tying up funds for a while in the hopes of a good deal, go for it, I guess.

Well, that's a great thing I should have checked first. Oh well, Amazon will make things right if anything goes wrong.

Schwalbe Marathon Plus @ Chain Reaction

I don't follow the prices on this particular tire too closely but this seems like a pretty good deal on a couple of the sizes. I've thought about them for my Fitness bike. My commuter friend swears by them. He says the amount of flats he gets is reduced to almost nothing.

Did you actually receive this? I was told it was shipped and delivered in less than 24 hours and nothing showed up. Several other reviews saying it's a scam on Amazon, seller page is no longer able to be navigated to. I've opened a ticket with the seller and got some broken English BS response. Need to wait 48 hours to claim refund from Amazon.

I have been using the Schwalbe Marathon (not the plus version, which is even thicker / more puncture resistant) for a couple of months now daily on my commuter. Rough roads, including cobbled sections and a construction zone, and so far no flats! I even rode through some broken glass one time that I couldnt avoid, and no flats! So I would recommend them so far.

They also have good rolling resistance according to bicyclerollingresistance.com.

$26 is a good price I think, I paid $35 for the regular version.

I received a long letter from the shipper, hard to understand, the best I can translate is: "we're very honest, sorry we're overwhelmed, should be shipped by Dec 22" . Of course I'll believe it when I see it.

Sounds like a delay tactic. I'd claim the refund as soon as you can.

Yeah, its a good thing that they don't have a 61cm one in stock. Makes my decision much easier.

Amazon approved my refund and I found a like-new Element Bolt for $100 with HR strap on my local FB marketplace. Good weekend.
