Bf spam

The SPAM emails filled with click bait are getting old. Am I the only one who is pissed when I see this **** in my inbox? "Bike Forums does not rent, sell, or lease customer information.” But they will send spam emails on your behalf if you pay them enough :-/

Not just spam...pseudoscience quackery at that. In understand needing to pay to keep the website lights on. I get it. But could they pick bigger sleazebags to spam the names of?

https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/gwy...-and-quackery/

I mean shoot, Gundry's own website the spam provided has the now universal chorus of all non-medicine everywhere "The information on this website has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.", plastered at the bottom of all its pages. That Bikeforums is part of the at conman's front makes it worse. It would be one thing if Garmin or Shimano or something actually bike related was being shilled for at least.....not utter pure unadulterated B.S. trying to pass itself off as medicine.

I'm not a paying member. I never get emails, SPAM or otherwise. Must be operator error.

Do you have this box checked in your email and messaging setting?:

"Receive our newsletter and special promotions from our partners"

BTW...There is a specific forum here for user suggestions and assistance.

This is a timely thread, as i just got my first spam email from bike forums today - the “powerwash” one. I’ve seen that disgusting ad all over the internet, but never expected it to show up in my inbox from BF, and i am not happy about it.

You know how boomers get mad because they don't understand how FB works and they'll see a posted link to an article or a targeted ad and they think someone is directly sending them stuff, so they'll post in all caps TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST even though that's not really a thing?

Moved here from General because IB reps monitor this forum.
I am going to ping IB about this as well. I didn't see the email, or maybe it's in spam, dunno.

on edit: yeah, it was in spam. That is pure quackery, I'm a little ashamed it went out under bikeforums name.

Relevance to the thread topic of gratuitous spam email from BF or one of its sponsors?

This topic has been reported, so perhaps the techies at B.F. can sort it out.

Hmmmmm? So much for that theory. Wonder if someone hacked BF, obtained email addresses, and is now spamming members.

Perhaps your, or your work site's email spam filter caught this one.

Which would almost be worse (presuming true)...because it would mean some 3rd party stole or was-sold the email addresses of BF members.

Oh. So that's how it works? I thought emails would directly to a box in BF. Not sure which email account I used when I joined BF. Wondering now if it's the one that Yahoo! froze after it was hacked many years ago. I will check my info. Thanks.

Edit: It's my Gmail account. The SPAM filter is great. I rarely get any messages in the SPAM box. When I do, it's usually not SPAM.

I am pretty sure it's an official BF email. They are looking at it

Turns out I got this email twice. Gmail put it in spam, but Yahoo was too credulous to figure it out

Now that I look closer, it is using the older BF colors before the site-reno.

Yes, that would certainly seem to be the most likely scenario. I'm guessing hacked, not sold.

As a data point, I'm on my own email server on my own domain (not gmail or the like), I have no spam filtering so I see everything that comes my way. I've not seen the spam.

Email is from bikeforums@travel.ibemail.com -- is that legit?

Maybe we're all grumpy about it because our insides need a "power-washing".
