Garmin Screen scuffs?

Has anyone "polished" the screen to remove scuffs and scratches? If so what did you use?

Thanks!

I used some Meguires Mirror Glaze, an auto polish. It will not remove deep scratches, they are there forever but it turned that foggy look into a shiny surface again.

If you get it fixed up put a screen protector on there. Actually it might work just to put a screen protector on. I got a set of 3 glass screen protectors for my 820 for like $10.

I would guess that toothpaste would work - it's what people use on plastic watch crystals.

But I am curious: how does the computer screen get scratched? I mean, it just rides on the handlebar, and occasionally comes off for recharging or to be mounted on another bike. So what is happening to it?

After quite a few tours, across the US, Canada and Europe a few times it has been dropped stuck in handlebar bags and such. Overall for 7 years of tours it has held up well. But it does have some "wear".

I use clear packing tape, the two inch wide stuff as a screen protector. Replace it when it looks bad or before I start a long trip.

Flitz makes polishes for pretty much every material, including polycarbonate, acrylics, eyewear, etc.
